Today I needed to get out of the house after feeling miserable and weak for the most part of the past few days.
DaNae came with me and we drove to diamond fork canyon in hopes of hiking along the river to the hot springs.
Unfortunately the road was closed about 3 miles before the trail head, but that didn't stop us. We hiked along the road as far as we could go with the time and energy I had.
We didn't make it to the springs, however we were not disappointed, knowing that it's not always about the destination, but most often the joy is found in the journey.
This simple leaf trapped under the ice that we walked over is enough to help me smile each time I see it, and remember.
