Temple visit

I wanted to take the kids to the temple this evening to show them how beautiful it was.  I decided to take my camera... good idea

They were using their "powers," to make the fountain go up and down :)

As we were leaving the kids wanted to play on the grass for a bit.

The kids said tonight was the best night of their lives.  I'm not sure why, but maybe, just maybe it has to do with the spirit that can be felt inside, or in this case, even outside of the temple.
Good night!

Clarks

This past weekend, we got to spend some time with Calvin and Christian Clark.  We did a few different things, and had some fun.  One of our outings included a trip up the Provo Canyon, to check out bridal veil falls.  The kids had some fun, and got a little wet.

Christian, Max, and Isabel all dunked their whole heads in the freezing cold water.

Crazy kids!
We sure had some fun this weekend!

Fiesta

Isabel had another spanish program at her school.
It was so cute!

Here's a short clip of one of the dances

 final song...

Love you Isabel!

Hungry?

Got to go see the hunger games with a few friends I play ball with about a week ago.  It was amazing!
Or should I say "they" were amazing!
Tick, tick, tick... BOOM!!!
Someone has another picture of all of us, but this is it for now

Vacation!!!

Around Christmas time, my parents told us all that they would be going to Hawaii in April, and that if we could get out there, we could stay with them.  My little sister Sharley informed us of some cheap airfare, and so we did it.  We bought  5 tickets to Hawaii out of San Jose.  This was great, we would leave early Friday, spend some time with the Blackwells, and then leave for Hawaii Monday morning.

So here's the start of the trip, in the car on the way to the bay area.

While in Cali. I got to go to the city, yay!  Sharley gave me a tour I had never been on before, and finally we got to the bread.  One of the reasons I will go to the city every time I'm in the bay...
Boudins!

Look close and you can see the G.G. bridge under that fog that's rolling in.  It was a gorgeous night in the city!
After walking around the peir for a while, we made our way over to Toto's, our favorite pizza place in the world.  Yum!
The highlight of our trip to Calif. was being able to get together with some of Reece's family.   We were able to visit, and eat, and just have a good time.

Max got to have cake for his upcoming birthday
I didn't get very many pictures, but we had a great time!

We woke up early Monday morning to get to the SanJose airport to catch our flight

Upon arrival in Hawaii, my parents picked us up, and took us back to the hotel.  From there we immediately got going on our breathtaking journey.  First ride...
Waimea Canyon

This was just an overlook, so we had to get back in the car to get to our destination.  First, we had to stop at this shave ice shack

It was Jo-Jo's.
We had to stop.  It was a yummy stop!
Now back in the vans.

Kim and Wayne
 Mom with Matt and Missy

And here's Max, holding a little chicken.

On the way home we decided to do some surfing...

NICE!!!

Dinner that night was delicious, and the kids were wasted!  Right to bed at about midnight our time

Next day.. Beach!

Reece bought an underwater/waterproof camera so he was trying things out.
The kids needed a pool break, because the "Ocean is too cold."
Missy and Matt, enjoying the day!
And I had to try out the boogie board.
Later that day, we spent some more time at the pool.

Ahhh, so sweet.  They love each other!

Next day, more beach.  We chose to drive across the island, and here is some of the scenery

we tried this beach for snorkeling, but it was a bust
 haha, Max sportin' his Jimmer

 Back in the Van
 A little more shave ice

K, here we are.  Tunnel beach.

 Rare Monk seal

 snorkeling
 Looking for shells

 more snorkeling

Packed up the snorkeling gear and drove to some caves.  Kinda cool.

Oh yeah, why did the chicken cross the road???
Hahahaha, Reece your so funny!

Let's not forget to mention that of the 5 days we were on the Island, I think we went to Costco 3 times.  For those of you that know us, you know we can't get enough.  So every time we drove into town we would pass this cool factory looking building so I included this picture.
Here's a picture of the Kona Coffee fields
And the blessed train ride, so relaxing and nice

poor max had an itchy back from a little sun burn

Even got to feed some warthogs
Cool Tongan guy who carved a little turtle on the tiki guy my dad bought for the kids

Our last day on the island was this cool kids birthday...
It seems that we had some leprechauns invade our hotel room

awe, poor girl.  It's not her birthday
 SCORE!
Max got some cool gifts from everyone that was on the trip with us.  He is a very lucky boy to celebrate his 9th birthday in Hawaii.
After our treasure hunt, grandma got out some beads and let the kids make some jewelry.  They loved it!

One last trip to the pool

We had so much fun swimming, building sand castles, snorkeling, sun bathing, sight seeing, and eating junk food.   Until next time...

Hang Loose!

Our flight back to Calif. was fine, and we enjoyed seeing mom and dad Blackwell one last time before driving home on Sunday.
About our drive home though...
YUCK!
