Pioneer day fun

Well for pioneer day (July 24th) we decided to head down to New Harmony, and spend time with Papa, and Grandma.
Grandma hand-made costumes for Isabel, and I. Also Max had a cool costume.












Grandma was in charge of making a float for her parade. It turned out quite nice, and she even let us ride on it in the parade.

After the parade was over, there was a huge B.B.Q., and lot's of games for the kids. There was also a pioneer costume contest. Isabel won 2nd in the children's bracket, and I won 2nd in the adult bracket. Thanks Mom for the cute costumes, and all the hard work.

So I forgot to mention that the Waites (minus Taylor) came up to join us for pioneer day in N.H. We miss those guys, and haven't seen them since we moved. It was a fun visit, we did lot's of fun things. They were with us for the N.H. parade, and also the next day we were in another parade for the next town over. Good times! After the Saturday parade, we went swimming, quadding, and exploring.

After a long day of events, we all settled down for some Smores. I love roasting marshmallows, and then sticking a piece of chocolate inside to melt. MMmmmmmmm. This was right outside my parents house in their "new" fire pit.
We had so much fun in N.H. with Dad and Mom. It was also really nice to see Heather and family. The trip was of course too short, but we'll be back this comming weekend. No Heather though. :(
Ode to Pioneers for another Holiday!

Home hair salon

Well here goes... Yesterday my cousin Lauren came for a visit. We wanted to show her a good time so the kids thought of some Ideas. First max thought that Lauren would love to play Bakugan's (crazy transforming ball toy thingy's) Looks like Max scored on that one, Lauren had a blast:
After Bakugan's Isabel decided to bust out her hair tools, and hook Lauren up with a sweet new hair-do. Max had to get in on the action, so I let him do my hair. Yikes.

Fun times

So a while ago, we went to our friend's house for dinner. It was fabulous!!! Sister Dayton made the best CafeRio knock offs ever! After a yummy dinner we played games (while tending to babies) It was good times! Here's Buffy and Joe

While at dinner Buffy invited us up to Park City the following week for some swimming. She is so sweet! We of course took her up on the offer. Here's a few shots of the kids.

Tile and swimming?

This weekend, after all the 4th of July festivities. My dad and I (while Reece worked, and my mom watched my kids all day), helped Donny and Sara put the tile in their kitchen (after almost 2 years of bare wood). Despite all the craziness of the floor, we "got er done."

So after a long weekend of fireworks, and fun. (and tile, thanks Dad) it was time for Dad and Mom to go home. Before they could go they had to have just a little more fun, so they took the kids to the pool. The whole gang was there, and we enjoyed a few hours of swimming and fun.

I know it wasn't the most fun to watch my kids all day long and lay tile on you weekend off. But it was very much appreciated!!! Thank you so much Dad, and Mom for all the help and love you give to my family.

4th of July. (A week late)

This 4th of July we live in Orem Ut. So we won't have the luxury of waking up and walking to the parade. What was fun was that my parents and the Browns were able to come up and enjoy the weekend. We also did something new this year. We (my mom, my kids, and me) woke up early and went down near Provo high, to watch the hot air balloons take off. The kids loved it! we kind-of followed the balloons, and then went home. From our house, we could still see the balloons so I took a few pictures:



Lauric, and Maley brought their parents up for a visit. So we were able to all enjoy the 4th together. (except for Sharley, the poor girl had to go to Washington, and New York)

Off to the parade. We wanted to camp out and get a great spot for the parade, but by the time we were ready to go find a spot there wasn't a single spot left. So Saturday morning we went and parked at the Toiaivao's house, and walked up to University. We usually catch the parade on Center street, but this year we wanted to try something new. Ends up we got a really great spot, and we didn't even have to stare into the sun. Also we got rained on for a few minutes. It was perfect weather for a parade. One of my favorite parade groups are the bagpipes, and this one group had some pretty narley chicks in it.
After seeing a few bands go by, grandma asked max what instrument he would like to play. There was no response until he saw the men in Kilts, and that's when he replied: "That's what I wanna play." Funny kid.
Here's the kids: Lauric, Max, and Isabel. Max and Joe had matching flag heads (it's tradition.) Isabel never wants to be left out and so she gets the streaks on top.

One of the kids favorit floats...Pirate island. It was pretty cool, they even had a Captian Jack Sparrow at the helm of the ship.
So after the parade, we came home, got babies to nap, and set up a little swimming pool we had borrowed from the Toiaivaos. It really was a little pool but we still had "big" fun. (tehe)

After playing outside for quite some time, 8:00 rolled around, and it was time for..."the main event!"

My dad purchased some fireworks to light at the house, and the kids all loved sitting and watching the dazzling display of flames dancing on the asphalt.

What a long day. Hot air balloons, a massive parade, swimming, lots of food, and fireworks. What more could you ask for. Oh yeah, a nice comfy bed. :)

94 years and still kicking.

There are so many pictures, and so little time. Well I guess since it's Sunday there is plenty of time. I guess I should say so many pictures, and so little will power. This past few weeks have been busy! First off end of June we celebrated Reecy's grandma's 94th birthday. His Uncle Maurice was in town (his name-sake) It was really fun to see him and grandma. We also got to see a few of Reeces cousins, but I didn't get pictures of them.

We're glad to have Grandma close to us, and are happy that we had the opportunity to visit with her on her 94th birthday. We hope to be able to celebrate with grandma as she continues to age beautifully. Happy Birthday Great Grandma!
